Courtyard Cabaret

Courtyard Cabaret is a festive sanctuary, where glamour meets a good time in a feast for the senses

What do you get when you mix quirky circus, vintage vaudeville and a red hot swing band?

Courtyard Cabaret is a brand new collaboration between Vintage Allsorts and Beeswax and Bottlecaps, inspired by the glimmering nightclubs from the golden age of Hollywood.

Step back in time to the glitz and glamour made famous by the likes of the Tropicana and Copacabana as you are hosted by the grand dame of the stage, singer and actress Monica Trapaga, and serenaded by the smooth sounds of chanteuse Pia Andersen’s Queenie and the Cavaliers (5 piece swing band).

This Pop Up Cabaret brings together sophisticated swing, a taste of variety from some Australia’s finest circus performers and a whole lot of mad cap frivolity in three hours of fun.

Designed as a moveable feast of entertainment, the Pop Up style of this show means that this is the Cabaret that can come to you. Be it a private home, an outdoor festival or a high profile corporate event, our bespoke production can be tailored to suit any soiree.

Part ritzy supper club, a side of stage show, a sprinkle of intimate and immersive roving. The audience can stay for an act or settle in and spend the night watching flying high aerialists, unusualists and a dapper tap dancer or two.

“We (Place Management NSW) engaged Pia and the Culture Beat Creative team to deliver a beautiful new experience as part of the newly launched Rocks Night Markets on Friday nights. Pia is fantastic to work with; not only is she responsive but her creativity really expanded on what our initial ideas were. Pia took the time to understand what we were trying to create, and worked with her amazing network of performers to bring the gorgeous Courtyard Cabaret to life. A 1930s cabana club take-over of the Rocks Square, complete with a fabulous band, stunningly dressed singers, engaging lyra and roving performer acts and stage pieces to compliment. The performances across the night captivated audiences as they wandered through the Night Market and discovered, providing a wonderfully ambient experience whilst they sat and ate with friends and family.
I highly recommend working with Pia and her team if you are looking for a fabulously creative, beautifully styled and professionally executed entertainment program or event. We continue to look for opportunities to work with Pia, and to come up with creative challenges to throw her way.”
